The M7™ Bass
The M7™ takes Fender's* idea a few steps in a different direction with Atlas Large Pole pickups, set neck construction, and angled headstock.
Unlike similar looking basses, this is a solid body bass with a standard 34 inch scale. Body size is similar to Gibson ES-335* guitar. (Weight is 8 lbs., 10 oz. -we also offer a lighter chambered option at + $100)
Quality appointments like a cocobolo fretboard, turquoise fret markers, un-bleached bison bone nut, and two zone push-pull tone control elevate the playing experience. The sound is similar to a Precision* bass but with greater clarity and more sustain.
Alder body and rock maple neck keep the weight down and stiffness up, both essential ingredients of the early '50's design, along with the intermediate weight premium quality bridge/tailpiece.
This is what Fender, Fullerton and Hyatt might have designed in a parallel universe (although a set neck would have been too expensive for a Fender!).
Full-bodied and flat frequency output from the 3/8 inch centered pole Atlas pickup gives more clarity, punch and presence to the traditional Precision* bass sound.
Heel-less neck design available with Stout, Medium, Slim or Ultra Slim profiles. Also Available in 5 string version or smaller 30 inch scale version.
